About the DIANU stainless steel cat water fountain
Why a cat water fountain at all
Cats evolved to trust running water and to be suspicious of still puddles. A pet water fountain keeps the water circulating all day, which many cats find more attractive — they drink more often, and better hydration supports their overall health. The flowing stream also carries oxygen into the water, so it tastes fresher than a bowl that has sat out since morning.
Stainless steel instead of plastic
The DIANU fountain bowl and top are 304 food-grade stainless steel. Steel resists corrosion, does not scratch the way plastic does, and does not hold onto slime or smells, which is why many owners switch from plastic flower fountains. It also takes hot water and the dishwasher. Only the pump, the filter holder and the small spout parts are plastic, and those are washed by hand.
How the filter and pump work together
Water passes a release strip, a cotton layer, activated carbon and ion exchange resin, then a pre-filter sponge before it reaches the 5 V pump. The pump runs at up to 180 litres an hour and stays at or below 25 dB, so the fountain is quiet enough for a bedroom or a small apartment. A LED lights the side window, so the water level is easy to check at night.
Keeping it running
Replace the filter cartridge and sponge every 1–2 weeks, depending on how many cats drink and how hard your water is. Once a week, take the pump apart and brush the rotor with the cleaning brush. Keep the water between MIN and MAX: a pump that runs dry fails early. Official DIANU filters, a replacement pump and a full accessories kit are sold separately, so one fountain lasts for years.
